December 2011 Update

Construction activities at Forrester are continuing at a rapid pace.  Exterior Finishes are being installed and site work is 95% completed.  As shown in the posts below, brick and hardiplank are being installed and some of the solar hot water heater panels are installed.

November 2011 Update

Construction is continuing at a brisk pace!  All of the slabs for the buildings have been poured.  Framing has commenced and buildings are begining to be dryed in.  Exterior finishes are right around the corner.  Check back next month to see some addiotnal exciting pictures.

Progress Update

Construction activities at Forrester Senior Village are well under way.  All of the slabs have been poured for the residential buildings, as well as the community center.  Curbing has been installed on the site and framing activities should commence soon. 

The final plans now include solar hot water systems for all of the units, which will drastically lower the power bills for our residents.  This will also create a more sustainable community by reducing our energy consumption.

Forrester Senior Village-An Apartment Community for Seniors in Leesburg, Georgia

Peachtree Housing is proud to announce that Forrester Senior Village will commence construction soon!

Forrester Senior Village ("Forrester") is a planned fifty unit apartment community designed for seniors (age 55 and older).  Forrester will be located in Lee County, GA off of Forrester Parkway, just east of Highway 19.  Forrester will provide its residents with numerous amenities, including a fitness center, a computer center, a large all purpose community building for community events, a garden for our residents' use, a picnic pavilion and a walking path that meanders through the open space of the property.

Furthermore, Forrester is working on becoming a designated EarthCraft Community. 

EarthCraft Communities offers holistic approaches to development for rural, suburban or urban projects. Through the EarthCraft certification process, communities enhance their health, livability, efficiency and overall market appeal. The EarthCraft Communities program addresses low-impact development, site selection, land disturbance, water quality and quantity management, energy, transportation infrastructure, community design, green space preservation and more. In addition, all buildings within an EarthCraft Community must be certified through the EarthCraft House, Multifamily or Light Commercial programs. EarthCraft Communities program administrators perform regular site visits, facilitate conceptual design charrettes and provide each project green building trainings for residents, property managers, builders and/or realtors.

Sustainability will be a large component in the development of and the operation of Forrester.  This focus on sustainability will ensure that our residents live in an environment that is healthy for them, the surrounding community and the environment as a whole.  Obtaining the EarthCraft Communities designation allows for third party inspections and verification to ensure the goal of sustainability is realized.

Forrester Senior Village will be an asset not only to the seniors who reside with us, but also to Lee County as a whole.  We look forward to working with the Lee County community to bring this development to fruition and to becoming a part of the Lee County community.
